New Tattoo

I now have 3 tattoos. For those who didn't know that I already had two, now you know. This one is the most well thought out and planned of the three. I am so happy to finally have found a design that I will want to look at for the rest of my life. The meaning behind this one is fantastic. I had planned to get a yin yang symbol to represent the delicate balance of life and how it must not be disturbed.

When I came across the Koru symbol, I knew that it was perfect. This is a New Zealand Maori tribal symbol that, in short; represents peace, strength and spiritual growth. It is placed on my right wrist. Some may know why this has special meaning to me and others may not. What is important to know is that I am happy to have found a design that so perfectly represents the meaning that I was looking for. I know that society has come to be more accepting of tattoos, but I will still keep it covered at work. I do not, however, feel the need to jusitfy to anyone "why I would do this to myself," and I refuse to be judged for making a statement that serves as a permanent reminder to me how special my life is. To me, it is the bold and beautiful symbol that I have sought out for a long time.

The pictures are the actual tattoo and the inspiration picture that I gave to the artist. I think he did an amazing job of interpreting it. If anyone is looking for a very talented artist, visit Dennis at Beyond Reality in Wyandotte.

Do you have a Dollartree near you? If you do, check it out. That's where I got the gravestones. They are pretty good quality too. They are a fairly heavy ceramic/resin/stone/whatever they are! They aren't plastic or anything flimsy that you would expect for $1.

Be sure to post Halloween decor pics when you set everything up!
